Apple has decided to take things a step further as it just dims the screen and lowers the refresh rate to 1Hz. In this guide, you’ll get to know all about the Always-On Display and how to enable and disable this feature on your iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
What does the Always-On Display do on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max?
The Always-On Display uses a new screen technology and it runs the screen in a low-power mode while refreshing the screen just once per second and reducing screen brightness. Similar to Apple Watch, it’ll allow the screen to stay turned on even if your iPhone is asleep. In the dim state, your iPhone shows the lock screen, accompanied by colorful wallpaper widgets, the current date and time, and any new notifications. You’ll be able to tap the screen or use Raise to Wake to bring your device back to full brightness. Moreover, sensitive data won’t be shown in the Always-On Display mode.
How to enable and disable Always-On Display on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
Some people have already stated that they find the rich, colorful, always-on lock screen slightly distracting. In case you don’t want the Always-On Display feature enabled on your device, you can easily turn it off.
